As technology becomes more and more advanced, the parameters of the product are also increasing. Accordingly, users have to worry
more and more when purchasing. In the past, when buying a home air conditioner, it was enough to look at the power and energy
efficiency; now when buying a home air conditioner, you also need to look at an important parameter-the refrigerant model.
Refrigerant is also called cold medium. There are many pipes in the installation of home air conditioners, and these pipes contain this
thing. Refrigerants include R32/R410a/R22/R134a and many other models
Before, we had never heard of the word "refrigerant" when buying home air conditioners, but this does not mean that it does not exist.
Instead, it is mostly replaced by another word - Freon, which is code-named R22 in refrigerants.
Later, it was discovered that Freon would damage the ozone layer and was not environmentally friendly. So new refrigerants appeared,
and R32 and R410a were the best among them. Nowadays, the use of R22 in air conditioners in European and American countries has
been banned, and has been replaced by R32 and R410a.
What kind of refrigerant an air conditioner needs is fixed. If it uses R32 when you buy it, you can only add R32 in the future - regret it
after buying it, and want to change it to R410a? Sorry, the air conditioner will break down. So the selection of refrigerant should be done
when buying the air conditioner.
If you meet a salesperson who sells R32 air conditioners when buying an air conditioner, she may tell you: air conditioners in developed
countries all use R32. This is actually true. Compared with R410a, R32 refrigerant has at least four advantages:
1. More environmentally friendly. Although neither refrigerant will damage the ozone layer, R410a has been proven to cause global
warming. Although R32 also has the ability to cause global warming, it is much smaller than R410a.
2. The usage is small, and the working pressure of R32 is greater, which means that in the same size pipeline, the filling volume of R32
is lower (only 70% of R410a). It can be compared to adults. The work that can be done by 10 R410a can be done by 7 R32.
3. Low cost. R410a is a mixed refrigerant. R32 and R125 are mixed together in a ratio of 1:1. It is more difficult to produce, which will
naturally lead to higher costs.
4. High efficiency. With the same air conditioning configuration, when using R32 refrigerant, the working efficiency will be slightly improved.
In other words, air conditioners with the same first-level energy efficiency using R32 will generally be cheaper than those using R410a.
But R32 has a huge flaw, that is, it is flammable. Do you still remember the news about air conditioner explosions in the past few years: Once
R32 leaks and the flammable gas comes into contact with the air, if it encounters an open flame again, it will inevitably lead to an explosion.
Several explosion accidents have brought R32 into disrepute. So even though our processes and technologies have improved significantly today,
R410a can still become a strong rival of R32.
