April 20, 2020 — Honeywell recently announced the launch of Solstice® N15 (R-515B) new refrigerant. Solstice N15 is an A1 grade, non-flammable refrigerant with low global warming potential (GWP) in the industry. It is intended to replace the application of R-134a in chillers and heat pumps. Solstice N15 has a global warming potential of 299 (AR5). It is an environmentally friendly, efficient and safe solution that can replace other products that cannot fully meet long-term energy efficiency and global warming potential requirements. The new refrigerant was released at the Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Expo (AHR) 2020 in Orlando early this year and is now fully commercialized.

Danfoss, the world’s leading compressor manufacturer, has pioneered the new Turbocor® TGS490 compressor with Solstice N15, which can be used in air-cooled or water-cooled chillers for air conditioning. Turbocor TGS490 has won the Innovation Award in the Green Building category of the 2020 AHR American Refrigeration Show.
