DAIKIN HALF-YEAR SALES UP 27%
2021-11-10

Daikin has reported sales of JPY1,558,863m ($13,812m) in the six months to the end of September – a 26.8% increase on the same period last year.

The news follows a 2.2% drop in sales last year to JPY2,493,386m (US$23,000m), its first such decline in 11 years.

The latest sales figures have prompted the Japanese manufacturer to increase its sales forecast for the full year ending March 2022 to JPY2,930,000m ($26,000m), which would be a record high.

In its main air conditioning business, Daikin managed to increase market share by launching new indoor air quality and ventilation products and strengthening its sales and marketing capabilities, while taking steps to avert component supply shortages. Sales grew in the Americas, China, and Europe for residential air conditioning, while Europe – especially France and Germany – witnessed strong demand for heat pumps.
